Lovely Places up the Garden Route
Garden Route
For our 2nd Wedding anniversary, we decided to take a road trip up the Garden Route. I am so happy we did. We found little gems & loved every minute of this trip.
Our first stop was Hermanus where we stayed for 2 days. Bamboo Guest house was awesome, the owners were lovely & the décor made me feel like I was staying in a hotel in ThailandJ. We went to an Italian restaurant called Fabio’s for dinner which is a MUST when visiting Hermanus, the food was spectacular.
Wilderness was next where we watched an exciting Stormers vs Bulls game in a pub, Stormers won & we had too much fun at the pub.
Next stop, Knysna for the day, we decided to treat ourselves to some massages at Turbine Hotel & Spa & then relax at the pool afterward, bliss….
Our final leg of the trip was Plettenberg Bay; this was by far the best part of our journey. We checked into our ‘home’ for the next 3 days, Rietvlei Country House. This place was amazing, the golden rays bursting through the curtains, the birds chirping in the morning and the sheep grazing in the field.
We visited Klein River Cheese factory, Claire’s Cakes and Coffee where I had the best red velvet cake EVER & Bramon Wine farm. This farm is the only one that far east of the Western Cape. The scenery was picturesque, food yummy & their MCC sparkling wine is now one of my favourites. The most awesome & unusual thing was the table in the vineyards!
Our last night in Plett was very special, we wanted to have a nice dinner to celebrate our anniversary & found a little piece of heaven called Emily Moon, it was filled with ambient light, warm & cozy from the fire-place & buzzing with conversation & laughter, very romantic.
This was a trip to remember…
