‘God is my Gaffer’…..
Wikipedia defines a gaffer as the following ‘A gaffer in the motion picture industry and on a television crew is the head electrician, responsible for the execution (and sometimes the design) of the lighting plan for a production’ the Chief Lighting Technician in other words.
Being a photographer working with natural light I believe that God is my Gaffer, I was taught this by an amazing photographer named Garth Stead, he was my mentor, boss & friend while working at Die Burger Newspaper. He is no longer with us but I will forever remember this beautiful lesson. We use this God given gift of light to create memories in the form of pictures. What a blessing…
Ryan & Jody’s maternity shoot was nothing short of magical. The light was dreamy, their love tangible & this Mamma to be just GORGEOUS. I am so lucky to call them my sissy & brother & can hardly wait to welcome another precious niece/nephew into this big overwhelming world.
The baby’s sex is under wraps so we decided on pink & blue elements, it turned out beautifully with the soft rich sunset.

AAAAAH!!! I just DID NOT want this post to end!!! Sissy, this is utterly gorgeous!! I’m sitting here with tears in my eyes!! I could not have envisioned anything more perfect! You are so INCREDIBLY talented and having you share this with us makes it even more special! You made this experience such a fun, memorable one and we could not have been more comfortable! This little Burger is immensely blessed to have you a part of his/her life. I’m just filled with so much emotion looking at these photos, knowing what lies ahead. And i have seen many maternity shoots and this shoot really sets itself apart from the rest. It’s just soooo real! Love it. Im sitting with tears in my eyes just looking through these.
